Guest night concerts endeavour to bring your favourite professional folk artists to the area, as well as introducing exciting new talent from the folk, roots and acoustic scene. Even if you haven’t heard of the artist, we hope our track record of booking class acts entices you to come along and discover a new favourite! These gigs are held upstairs at Rooster’s brewery Taproom HG2 8QT, and sometimes at other local venues. 14th January Jez Lowe with support from Graham Bell

We are delighted to welcome the return of award winning troubadour Jez Lowe to Harrogate Folk Club. He is one of the most admired musicians on the UK folk scene and  a superlative songwriter. Many of you may know him from his work on the famous BBC series “Radio Ballads” series, or as being one of the Pitman Poets. We know him as a masterful wordsmith and singer who has you thinking  and laughing out loud with his wry and unique observations on life.

Saturday 21st March at Ripley Town Hall The Urban Folk Quartet

The UFQ are quite simply remarkable. This vibrant international band produce music that draws heavily from celtic music and traditional song but embraces influence from funk grooves to afrobeat and Indian rhythms.  They are all highly respected musicians in their own right, from Galician fiddler Paloma Trigas, fiery fiddler and showman Joe Broughton, masterful percussionist Tom Chapman, and the brilliant Dan Walsh on Banjo and guitar. They will entertain and  delight …..this is a gig you won’t want to miss!

20th May Jack Rutter supported by Whistling Dixie

Yorkshire folk singer Jack Rutter is one of the standout voices of the folk, roots and acoustic music scene. A hugely engaging stage presence, his soaring vocals, powerhouse guitar and bouzouki playing and masterful arrangements of traditional songs and contemporary covers have enthralled audiences from the largest festival main stages to the most intimate folk clubs. The audience loved him the last time he came to Harrogate Folk Club and we are delighted to welcome him back.

24th June Flossie Malavialle with support from Chris Manners

The incomparable French Geordie chanteuse returns to Harrogate Folk club to delight us with her wonderful voice, an eclectic repertoire of songs and her hilarious banter. Once heard never forgotten, you’ll definitely not want to miss this!

September 16th Gary Stewart supported by Summersville

We are delighted to welcome Gary Stewart back to Harrogate Folk Club as part of the launch tour of his new album. As well as frontman of “Gary Stewart’s Graceland” and Paul Simon devotee, Gary is a versatile musician and superb singer songwriter. Whether selling out shows at The Barbican or intimate gigs in breweries, Gary is a master of his craft and a delight to listen to.

October 28th at Ripley Live Simply Dylan

Simply Dylan are NOT a tribute band! They are an exploration and celebration of the rich and diverse work of Bob Dylan. They have delighted Dylan fans across the UK, received great reviews, sold out The Cavern Club six times, and opened at The IOW festival so we are over the moon that they are coming to Ripley Town Hall. Get your tickets early because they will be snapped up!

November 11th Sam Carter

Sam Carter is a BBC Folk Award-winning singer-songwriter and guitarist renowned for his narrative-rich songwriting and beautiful interpretations of songs from the folk tradition. For over 15 years, he has been stirring audiences from Camden to Canada, from major festivals to intimate clubs. Carter’s expressive fingerpicking led Jon Boden of Bellowhead to call him “The finest English-style fingerpicking guitarist of his generation.”  We rate him up there with the likes of Nic Jones and are thrilled to welcome him to Harrogate Folk Club.

December 16th The Jon Palmer Band

To end our 2026 season and celebrate the festive season we welcome back old friends of the club. The Jon Palmer Band draw on the best of traditional and contemporary music to bring joyful folk rock with a blend of thoughtful social conscience and banging feelgood choruses you’ll be humming as you leave. This event will be raising as much money as we can for Save The Children Fund.
