Folk club night is free and is normally every first Wednesday of the month. It is MC’d and features local and visiting musicians. Whether you like to perform or prefer to listen we look forward to seeing you, because you are what makes it special!.
Our next Club Night will be Wednesday 4th March When Pete Davis will be our spotlight guest and we’ll be passing the bucket round for Save the Children Fund. Pete has a great voice and writes memorable songs with thought provoking verses and singalong choruses, Get in touch if you’d like to perform too, you’d be very welcome.
When and where? Every first Wednesday of the month, 7:00 for a 7:30 start, upstairs in Roosters Brewery Taproom, Fifth Avenue, Hornbeam Park, Harrogate, HG2 8QT. There is ample parking surrounding the brewery and it’s a short walk from Hornbeam Park rail station.
Information for floor singers: We are a listening audience and appreciate a good performance. We are what it says on the tin,,,,,a folk club, not a singaround or open mic, and we welcome acoustic music within the vast umbrella of folk, roots, blues and beyond! We try to give each performer 2 songs and it’s best to get in touch first to guarantee a slot, especially if you are travelling. However, we have a lot of people who want to perform and sometimes it’s difficult to fit everyone in, so please don’t be offended if we ask you to do just one tune or song. Please let us know if you can’t turn up or change your mind, then we can give newcomers a chance and let others have your spot. We normally have people perform from the stage, with just the ambient mic to boost the sound in the large room., but we very occasionally “go casual”, and have evenings in the Singaround format, where people perform from their seats and we go round the room.
