To complete a magnificent year of Harrogatefolk concerts, this December we Welcomed Bryony Griffith and Alice Jones as part of their festive Wesselbobs tour. It was a stellar celebration of Yorkshire music and humour, Alice came dressed as a candle [!!!] and they both joined the house band for for a lively reel at the beginning.




November, and the rain outside couldn’t stop the sunshine in the room as we delighted in the outstanding musicianship of Granny’s Attic supported by the iincredible voice and songs of Maddie Morris.




Sam Kelly and Jamie Francis were our guests in September, ably supported by local favourites Steamtown. it was a privilege to be part of such a stellar evening of musicianship We smiled broadly, cheered loudly and even shed a tear!




The July heat bought with it an exciting collaboration with the Country Blues and Yorkshire Folk of SAM BARRETT and DAVID BROAD, It was a fabulous night that left the appreciative crowd wanting more!




June brought the eclectic folk band Hebble, with great harmonies, skilful musicianship and a good deal of fun. With that and local duo Summersville to provide support, we were guaranteed a great night.




In April we had such a superb night of virtuoso music and laughter with ANNA MASSIE supported by Reuben and The Bridge that we still can’t stop smiling!




What a memorable night we had with the hugely talented JOE TOPPING in February supported by James Mitchelle. Joe’s powerful singing with his resonator guitar and his captivating stories had us laughting and crying and Jame’s guitar wizardry left us open mouthed!




Our December gig with THE HUNCH was a magnificent way to end the year. From Carolan to ‘Chasing Cars’, finishing with a raucous ‘Merry Christmas Everybody’, we went on a wonderful genre bending musical journey with dancing, singing and laughter. Thanks to The Hunch for their music and thank YOU for joining us. The raffle raised £350 for The D.E.C appeal for the humanitarian crisis in The Middle East




Well that was rather special! Our annual “Big Gig” on November 20th at Ripley Town Hall was with the fabulous Track Dogs and was an evening of superb upbeat music and the occasional bit of mahem! They were joined on stage at various times by blues harp player Fergal Gara, singer and dancer Alice Jones and even our own Sally Richardson.




What a great night we had on 16th October with the unique and vibrant music of the talented Good Habits. [Remember you saw them here first folks!!] Bonnie and Pete were ably supported by Kim Ralls.




September 18th saw a small but perfectly formed audience enjoy the wordsmithery and magic of Den Miller supported by Steve Chapman Smith.




Another great night on September 4th with the marvellous Flossie Malavialle, People travelled from all over the north to be at this very special gig and a fantastic night was had by all! She was supported by Costa Festival friends Paul Meehan and Sheree Hemingway, Chris Manners, and Tom and Sally Richardson.




July saw a fantastic sell-out crowd enjoy a great night of music with Mark Radcliffe and David Boardman supported by The Jon Palmer Trio. {Isn’t it great when you discover that people off TV and wireless are lovely people in real life too!}




What another great Harrogate Folk Club evening we had in June! Beautiful voices and super melodies, lyrics and accompaniments from the lovely Maddie Morris and Iona Lane




A capacity audience had a great night in May with the legend that is Boo Hewerdine supported by Steamtown. We laughed, sang along to familiar songs, and even danced!



What a joy it was to host the incomparable songwriter and performer Findlay Napier in April, ably supported by Trash Panda




March brought a great night of music from folk troubadour and Right to Roam activist Johnny Campbell, ably supported by local duo Shadowplay.




A truly memorable night with Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne at Henshaw’s this February, Cohen is an artist who just keeps getting better and we feel privileged to be part of his progress.




2024 began in January with an enchanting evening of song from Louise and Chris Rogan. Despite icy conditions the music kept us warm!



A huge thanks to the magnificent Melrose Quartet and to the lovely audience who braved ice, snow and fog to join us for a brilliant night of festive music and laughter on Saturday 2nd December.




On November 1st we celebrated 5 years of this incarnation of Harrogate Folk Club with a magnificent singers night jam packed with Yorkhire talent! Here are just a few photos of a memorable night,




October saw a lovely night of music at Henshaw’s with Christina Alden and Alex Patterson as part of their UK tour, ably supported by our own Joe Garner.




September guests were an absolute treat! Dan Walsh and Alastair Anderson gave us a virtuoso performance leaving the musicians in the room in awe and the rest of us just smiling at the great music!




Harrogate Folk Club provided the Folk Club Stage at Henshaw’s Feva Folk Festival in August. Rain and circumstance kept the audience numbers small but the sun eventually shone, the music was superb and we had a great time!




Another night of lovely music in August from two wonderful Yorkshire duos, Hazjak and Cobalt Tales. The joint finale of “The Wild Rover” lifted the roof of the brewery and left a lot of people with a lot of smiles!



What a lovely night we had at Henshaw’s with Edwina Hayes on 23rd June! Gary Stewart joined her for a truly memorable performance of “The Sound of Silence” as an encore..




May 17th saw a superb night of music from Gary Stewart, who gave us beauitifully crafted songs and great musicianship as well as evoking memories of of Paul Simon.




A packed house enjoyed superb mix of Yorkshire Americana, Celtic and Appalachian and more from a double bill of Steamtown and Atlas Bridge on 19th April




March 15th was a real treat for “Tradheads” with a great night of music from George Sansome




February 10th was a memorable night with Steve Knightley. A full house shared the stories and songs that emerged from Steve’s lockdown life and the rafters rang to us all joining the chorus of “The best one yet”!!



We opened 2023 with Steve Turner supported by Johnny Campbell. It was great to hear two masters of their craft carry the musical baton of traditional music confidently into the new year!




Folk/rock band MERRY HELL supported by Cobalt Tales at The Frazer Theatre was a raucously joyful way to end our 2022 series of concerts!



What a fantastic October gig night we had with JACK RUTTER and Sarah-Louise Boyle! When a seasoned performer tells you they’ve had the best gig ever and the audience leave with massive smiles on their faces, you know you are doing something right!
